A fun day at Saturday's Market

We decided to try some of the food carts that are downtown. We went over to SE Portland today. Mal chose a pizza... Courtney chose BBQ pulled pork fries...
Connor had chili cheese fries....

Pete had a brisket, blue cheese, and caramelized sandwich. I had an egg, cheese, spinach and mushroom crepe. Out of these we think Pete's was the winner. Yum!

We went down to Saturday's market. Mal liked the hat's.

Courtney had fun looking at all of the fun accessories.

Connor has a good eye for seeing dogs. There were some really cute ones out today.

I had a really good time and I think the rest of them did too. The weather was beautiful.

Father's Day

I am not so great at surprises. This is not news to anyone who knows me. Pete found his father's day gift weeks before and we've even used it a few times. I got him a cool grill that you use on the stove top. So all he got for father's day was what he wanted to eat and the gift's from the kids. He ordered waffles for breakfast and Chinese for dinner with Death by chocolate trifle for dessert. Mallory made the brownie's (which turned out great!) and I finished the rest.We hope you had a good and rest full day Pete! We love you. Thank you for everything you do for us!

Courtney's room Redo

I meant to do Courtney's room when I did Mallory's but I ran out of steam. Then I thought it would be fun to surprise Court by doing it while she was at girls camp. She knew what was up but I still had fun.

BEFORE...After....
First thanks goes out to Mallory who helped me paint. She's a really good painter! Second but no less of a thanks goes to Adrianna who put up with me and helped walk me through putting in a chandelier. It got done and the house hasn't burned down so we must of done it right. She did still have to shimmy up into the attic when I couldn't hammer in the stinking work box.

Thirdly I have to thank Keira for her handy skills to get the canopy rod in place. I have such AWESOME friends!!

We still have a few finishing touches but I thought Court and I would have fun doing that together. Oh, Courtney loves her room. Yea!!

Last assembly for Courtney at Tobias

Mallory had a really good year with Mrs. Bastian. I had wanted her for Connor and Courtney but didn't get her until Mal. She's a great teacher.
Courtney received an award for Academic Excellence. She was so excited! We are very proud of her. The 6th graders did swing dance and this was their final performance.

At the end of the dance they branched off and danced with the teachers. Court danced with one of her favorites.

Courtney and Gabby.

After the assembly the 6th graders make a tunnel for the other kids to go through.

Wow, what a year!

Courtney's Moving on Breakfast

Courtney had her moving on breakfast. The kids all have "What I have learned" things read while they walk up and receive a 6th grade memory book. The theme was Hollywood and the decorations were a lot of fun.

You're a 7th grader now Courty!

Starlight Parade

We went to the Starlight parade for the 2nd time since we've lived here. Connor marched with the Century High School Band for the first time. We met up with Ciara and the kids to watch the parade. One of the fun things about this parade is that they have a run before it. People dress up and make it fun to watch.
This is proof it really was a gorgeous day.

Here were some Sesame Street aliens.

And Herb. He was Animal from the Muppet's.

The kids were able to snag a spot in front to watch the parade. Sage ran with her dad until she got to us. It was about half way.

It was at this moment I called to wish my dad Happy Birthday. And then the guy jumped off. I wasn't quite expecting that. Dad is 76. It was great that we got to see him last weekend.

The floats all have lights because that's what the Starlight parade is all about.

Pete made sure he wore Red Sox gear so that he was dressed right to root for Luke's team.

I finally got a few pictures of Connor. When they went by I took a picture of some other kid. I then had to sprint through the crowd and down quite a few blocks to try to take a picture. I'm not ready for parade photography I think. I'm lucky I got these. Connor is 2nd in from the right.

It was a long day but we enjoyed it. It was still 75 degrees at 10:30pm. I was finally warm.

Luke's Baseball Game

We finally had some time to see one of Luke's baseball games. We lucked out and had beautiful weather. His game was fun to watch.
Kate always stares me down. I wonder what she's thinking.
Mallory and Allie hung out on the bleachers.
I had to sneak this picture so Mallory wouldn't scowl.

We had a fun time being with Mike, Kim and the kids. It was a great day to play!

Connor's 8th Grade Graduation

Connor is done with 8th grade! Well almost. They have 2 more weeks left in school. Weird right? He played with the Jazz band before the ceremony and then took his seat. I had a hard time with the lighting but at least I got a few pictures. Connor was called up because of the Optimist Award he received. Then it was finally time to receive his certificate. He was all smiles.

He is ready to be a freshman. We wanted to celebrate but Connor and Courtney had Y/M and Y/W so we dropped them off and then took everyone out for a very late dinner to McGrath's. Connor, Courtney and I all ordered the same thing and loved it. Pete and Mallory had to bring home leftover's.
