Washington County Fair

We decided to go to the fair for a couple of hours. We lucked out and saw a dog show. Then we told the kids they could pick a treat just for them. Connor chose a doughnut sundae.
The girls finally decided that that's what they wanted too....

They must have been good because Pete and I thought we could have a bite but they were gone before we could!
Mallory decided to work it off before we left.

Another good day.

Boating

Boating is always a blast. This time we went a little late in the day so Pete and I opted to stay dry, but the girls were in their element!

Courtney was being daring and turned all the way around while going.

So then she stood up...

She also did the knee board.

Another good day on the water.

Harry Potter Fans

We lucked out and got tickets to a Thursday night release of Harry Potter. Thank you Intel! The kids borrowed costumes and we headed out. The movie was good and Court even tied for best costume in our theater. (Thanks Kim!!)

River Run

We went down the Rouge river for our river trip. Pete went alone... We went in a paddle boat....
Connor tried to get out of rowing....

Court jumped ship and rode with Pete.....

We stopped for lunch...

And at the end finally caught up with the rest of the group. It was a beautiful day and it was tons of fun. I haven't been down the river for a long time.

I think it might become an annual event. We all had a good time.

A trip to Medford

I just couldn't resist putting this picture in. It was the day before we left and the kids were all getting along. My sister has a trampoline that Mallory loves.
And my nephew's had a hang out that Connor loved.

We all went bowling for the evening and had a lot of fun. I got to see my niece that I haven't seen for a long time. My sister's too for that matter.

My brother came down too. We had a good time.

It was good to see everyone.

My Birthday!

I turned a whopping 35! It doesn't bother me but it's weird to think I'm there already. I got up and got dressed before I came down because Mallory wanted me to stay upstairs until she said. When I came down the front room was all picked up and the kids had gotten me a few gifts. The girls wanted to get something for me with their own money. They are very bright young girls and got me my favorite chocolates! I LOVE Lindt truffles.
Next Mal told me to go into the kitchen. She had made this banner.....

and had cleaned the kitchen!! I almost started to cry! It was the sweetest gift she's given me. My pictures are taken with my birthday present. I'm loving my new camera and one of these days I'll know what I'm doing. Maybe.

Pete took me to breakfast downtown to the Original and we had creme brule french toast. We walked around for a bit and then tried another food cart. It was called the Frying Scotsman. Really good fish and chips. We came home played games with the kids and then went to dinner. I opted for Happy Panda. Next I got to go to Mary Poppins with some friends and my sister. I was completely spoiled this year and loved every minute of it! Thanks Pete for giving me such a wonderful birthday!

Fourth of July!

We started the fourth off by learning the secret behind getting a huge candy return for watching the parade. You have to make a sign with a target. The girls made sure theirs was large. We were able to watch the parade with some good friends.
Mal made sure she was comfortable, and was getting plenty of sun. Adrianna was smart and had a huge umbrella to keep cool. (I'll have to remember that one.)

The candy arrives!!

The frenzy begins!

And the real reason we went to the parade. (Isn't it?) He's the one in the back middle.

The rest of the day we spent with Mike, Kim and cousins playing soccer. It was a hot day but so fun! After dinner we lit off some fireworks with some friends. Our neighborhood seems to have tons of illegal ones to watch so when we came home, I talked Pete into climbing onto the roof to watch them. It was a bit freaky but fun. The girls came in search of us so Pete let them crawl up half way so they could see. They want to do it again! A really good 4th.
