Band Festival

All three of the kids were in the band festival this year. 

Mallory played the bassoon, Courtney on the clarinet, and Connor on his trumpet.

Disneyland WITHOUT the kids!

Pete and I went to Disneyland to surprise Connor. He was there on his band trip. I was surprised when we got there. Pete had booked our room at the Grand Californian. This was our view from the room.

Damon and Rachel came and hung out with us for the day at the pool and downtown Disney. We had the best beignets from the jazz kitchen.

We had a fun time surprising Connor. The kids were in groups so we took the kids in Connor's groups' tickets and became their "fast pass runners" for the day. We met them at the end of their first ride (Thunder mountain) with fast passes and a churro. 

The kids in Century Band got to march in one of the parade's. Waiting for the band....

Pete and I stayed a couple of days with no kids.

Yes. On Dumbo. Two grown adults. Loving it.

Best fruity drink by the pool.

 Best corn dog you'll ever have.

 It was our goal to see if they would keep our photo up at the end of the rides.

But this one was deleted as soon as I took this picture of our picture! 

I guess they don't like people looking bored.

 One of the nights was open for a special third showing of Fantasmic for members. Instead of watching it (because we've seen it before) we rode Thunder Mountain 7 times in a row!!! Hard to see but those are empty gates to get on the train.

 Pete talked me into going on Tower of Terror...

I didn't fair so well. So to even things out, I took 

Pete on the moving cage of the Ferris wheel even though it kind of freaks him out.

And we couldn't leave without seeing our favorite show.

We had a wonderful time and have to say that Disneyland isn't just for kids!

Pete knows when they take your picture so on this trip we made it a funny thing to make the kids squirm because of their yucky parents!!

I can never pose for this one. I can't help but scream even though I try not to!
Connor and I went to Electronica one night to see how they change California at night. They had this bike out that Connor really liked.

Yet another picture opportunity. Jazz hands! Connor had opted to look like a monster which fit in perfectly! Mall and Court were doing Mickey ears. This one really grossed Mal out! and she got really angry that we didn't do Mickey ears with them.

She still took this nice picture with her siblings afterwards though!

This is one ride I avoid but the rest of them love it!!

An afternoon spent at the pool taking a break.

Melissa Erekson and the kids came to hang out with us for the day. We had a great time seeing them!! (I missed pics with them too!) Missed you Andy!

We ran into Goofy and there was no line!! He goofed around with the kids and we almost missed the train we were trying to catch! This is the only character pic we got for the week!

It was worth it!

Another fabulous trip to Disneyland because of Pete's incredible trip itineraries! Thank you Pete for all you do for us!

Spring Break- San Diego

We started off our spring vacation in San Diego visiting the Afualo's. We went to old town for the first time and tried to catch up with one of our ward missionaries there. Unfortunately we didn't get to see her but had a great time at the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center and old town.

In one of the old houses they had the candle shop. The girls got to color their own.

While we were waiting for the candles to dry we found a little ice cream shop and the kids enjoyed the treat.

The kids all had fun even when they couldn't all play Wii at the same time!!

It was good to see the Afualo's again and we had a great time while we were there even though it was so short!!

Jazz

When Connor got done with marching season they started into Jazz. I went to listen to them and they sounded great!

A Whopping 15!

Connor needed a mute so we got him a good one.... later he told us he needed a clean toilet plunger for his mute, so he got that too!!
This year he wanted the lemon poke cake.

Happy birthday Connor! Your growing up in more ways than one!!

Mal's 11!

Time is flying by and the kids just keep getting older!! Mal got a camera and some other fun toys. (I'm glad she still likes them!!)

Proof positive that they do love each other-most of the time!!!
