Volunteer Appreciation Day at Tobias

It was volunteer appreciation at the elementary school, so beyond Julie getting another flower for the front yard, the kids treated the crowd to an assortment of performances. Connor performed with the band again. All of the 4th graders performed on the recorder (I always grew up with it being called the song flute, but so be it). The dance club also performed. There are a few boys from the ward in the performance. It's pretty fun to watch. Sorry about the blips in Courtney's. Our camera allows us to take pictures while filming, but we didn't realize the effects.

More goodbyes

We had some friends move this last week. The Erekson's headed for California and a new job. It's sad to see them go, but there just aren't many animation jobs in Portland. We did out best to send them off in style with a myriad of farewells. We stole some pictures from Andy's surprise birthday dinner at a Moroccan restaurant downtown. It helped me realize how nice cutlery is. The evening included entertainment. Two of the braver guys joined the professional, needless to say, Pete wasn't among them. We helped to host one of the farewells and the girls helped with the decorating by adding graffiti to the driveway. They hoped to remind us that this was a happy occasion.

They also made sure to sign their work.

We'll miss Andy, Melissa, Grace and Clark. Luckily we find ourselves in Southern California pretty frequently, so they won't be able to duck us for good. See you guys in August.

Spring CHOMP concert

We were having a nice evening on Thursday. The girls were outside playing on the swings passing the time before we left to get to Connor's concert. It was yet another nice day. I had just picked up my book and sat down when I heard crying. This wasn't the normal we just had a fight or I just got hurt cry either. It was there's something wrong cry and I had that feeling..... Yep, you guessed it Mallory broke her arm. It was decided that I would take Mal to the urgent care (of coarse it was after hours) and Pete would go to the concert with Court. So we separated. Here is the picture I got.... and here is the picture Pete got....

Mallory is doing great and we dont have to put a hard cast on her as long as she keeps this on. It doesn't slow her down much!

Easter Morning

The kids had a good time finding their Easter baskets. Unfortunately, my pictures came out looking as bleary as I felt! This was the best one.

Easter Dinner

We had the family over for dinner. The house smelled good! I took pictures of Kate because I seem to get my baby fix with her! She loved the ham and wanted to share.

The kids had fun being with their cousins. I'm always glad to have everyone together so we see each other once in awhile!

Easter Hunt

Our ward had an Easter breakfast and hunt on Saturday. The kids loved the Cinnamon rolls and after listening to the Easter story they went a hunting...

Except for Connor who stayed in the deserted gym to play his PSP...

Courtney's Results

So, all of the tests are clear and Court is fine. There's no indication that this will happen again. Thank you to everyone who helped us and kept us in your thoughts. We are blessed with a wonderful family and very good friends. Thanks again.

Night of the Notables

Connor had a school project that they had to choose a historical figure, do research, write a report and then finally they had Night of the Notables. Each of the kids dressed up like the person they researched and the parents went around asking yes and no questions to figure out who they were. Connor chose Milton Hershey. He was excited to study a distant relative. He then found out more about him while doing his research. He was totally in character and loved playing the part!!
