A visit with some good friends

The Erekson's were very kind to us. They picked us up from the Long Beach airport and let us stay with them for a couple of nights before we got on the cruise ship. We got to see baby Audrey for the first time (in person) and Grace remembered us. Clark didn't but he warmed up to Pete pretty quick. Connor loves holding babies so he was a pretty happy camper. We set off for a walk Saturday to get some Slurpee's. It wasn't raining and the sun did shine but it was a little brisk. I think we brought some of our weather with us.
On our way back, we stopped at the neighborhood park and let the kids play for a little while.

We had such a good time with the Erekson's and are hoping to see them this summer.

I walked into the kitchen after running Mallory to piano lessons and saw that she left this note (and food) out for her siblings. Now I ask- Does she do this because I don't and she needs it in her life (the mothering) or is she going to be the mom I always THOUGHT I was going to be?

Seaside Tournament

Here's a shot of the girls Court had to guard all year. I love the look on the other girls face and Courtney's smirk.Court swishing a free throw.
I caught Court's defensive playing here. It makes me smile. There's always a lot of action when she plays. These two went at each other the whole time.

Between games Saturday the girls rode the tilt a whirl. At first they kept leaning opposite ways so they wouldn't spin. (Not what they were going for.) We yelled out to them to sit together and they were on a roll!
Mal's a bit fuzzy but it was a good shot of how she was there to get the ball. Mal's team was great. They played heart and soul every game all the way to the end. They didn't have a win all season but you'd never know it by how happy they always were.
When the games were done both teams met up at Fultano's in Seaside so the girls could play in the arcade and let off a little steam.
They have bumper cars in the back area. I want to go on them next time!! We had a good time with all the girls and parents from both teams. Pete had a good time being the assistant coach and the girls had a great time playing ball. Good Season girls!

Our first snow of the 2011

We woke up to snow this morning. The kids were thrilled. I was not. There wasn't much but as always school was cancelled because the roads had iced over before the snow fell. It is beautiful. I even have to admit that.We found the snow clothes and the girls played outside for the morning.

Connor is like me and opted to stay inside. I wouldn't chose to cuddle with the dog however. As long as I can look at it, I like it.
They had a good time and then the snow melted.

Another Milestone

Connor had a few friends over for a day of gaming. We didn't tell them it was for his birthday!

We figured he really didn't need anything and it was fun to have some friends over. I liked this approach! They had pizza, soda, and plenty of game time before we pulled out his cake and presents. The cake looked hideous besides being the wrong thing. Connor wanted a Green Bay Packers logo and I ended up doing an Oregon Ducks O before Pete came home and reminded me of what it was supposed to be! The filling while yummy was spilling out of the middle and the frosting job was sub-par but because Connor is Connor he said it was great, gave me a hug and loved it anyway. I really am a lucky mom. Connor had no idea what he was getting for his birthday so I was really excited for Pete and I to give this to him....

Fast forward to today, Connor was ordained a Teacher. I can't believe he is already 14. He also talked in Sacrament Meeting today and did a fantastic job. I'm so proud of him. He is a really good speaker. He is growing up fast and what's even scarier is that we only have about 4 summer's or so to have some fun vacations with him before he's ready to head off to college! We'd better start planning now! Love you boy!!

A Weekend Getaway!

We headed out to the coast with the Churches for a kid free retreat. It was a nice break and the weather held out for us. The rain only hit when it didn't matter. We went to Seaside and then down the road to Hug Point. We had never been there before.A little further down the road was a spot a lady told us about. It was a nice trail down to the beach. (I can't remember what the name was...)We enjoyed our time away and are thankful that Mike and Kim were willing to watch the kids. THANK YOU!
