A trip to Crescent City

We traveled to Crescent City for my dad's 75th birthday. These are a couple of pictures of the road. It is a beautiful drive but it is very curvy. It was through the curves that Pete and I were able to overhear a car conversation between Connor and Courtney. It went something like this... Courtney,"Hey Connor, I was watching a movie where the man bent his bride almost all the way to the floor and her hair was touching the ground and he kissed her. It was so romanic! Are you going to do that with your bride? Connor,"Yeah , maybe I will." Court,"And I'm going to have dancing too." Connor," Yeah, a lot of dancing." Court," It is so romanic!" Mom," ROMANTIC." Mal,"Yeah, romanTIC" Mom," It's okay leave her alone." Connor," I'm just a little embarrassed. Mom,"Why?" Court,"Because he has a crush on Amanda, and I know!" Connor," Well I just really liked her. She was always a good friend." Court."She's moved on!" I guess it goes to show you that curvy road are conducive to fun conversations.

Saturday morning was pretty cold. It was pretty sad because it was about 90 at home but it was worth the trip. The harbor was across the street from the motel that we stayed in and we took some pictures.

Mallory had gone with Aunt Susie to pick out the doughnuts for breakfast so she missed the photo op. We got out to Mom and Dad's had yummy doughnuts and started getting ready for Dad's party. Courtney and Dad watched cartoons together for a little while.

The girls always have fun seeing the neighbors across the street from Mom and Dad's.
We took the kids to the beach for a quick trip before the party.

These are some Redwood trees that we drive through to get home. Not the best picture but they are big! This is a picture of the Smith river. I love the way the river looks.Happy Birthday Dad!
From all of us kids!

That road is so curvy! It's fun to see photos from there. It's been 8 years since I was there last.
